WORK HISTORY
Leader, Partnership for Missional Church Uk @Church Mission Society
Oxford, GB
Partnership for Missional Church -UK is constituted as part of the Church Mission Society\'s overall mission in UK. It comprises a three-year cultural change process towards mission run in clusters of 10-15 congregations at a time and six spiritual practices that can also be taught separately from the process. Currently the process is delivered under agreement in partnership with Church Innovations, USA. As leader of PMC-UK I oversee the delivery and development of the PMC process and practices in UK churches of all denominations. In Anglican terms a significant milestone will be reached when eight dioceses are participating at the same time (currently four). Development will involve growing the capacity to offer the process beyond the four current clusters and researching the effectiveness of the process.

ABOUT NIGEL ROOMS
I am a lifelong learner, self-starter, team player and networker. I consider myself organised, committed, courageous and someone who delivers objectives well. I see the big picture and am truly creative. I hold Bachelor, Masters and Doctoral degrees and worked in senior training and development positions in a Church of England Diocese for more than ten years. This experience alongside doctoral research in adult theological education and the relationship between Christian faith and culture gave me important insights into how adults learn, change and grow. I have significant experience of leadership development through training courses, mentoring and coaching including engaging with systems thinking, group relations and unconscious processes. I hold the Tavistock Institute’s “P3C Practitioner Certificate in Consulting and Change” (2017). I spend a significant amount of time consulting with local churches and the systems that support them to create deep cultural change for the sake of their long-term future. I facilitate large group processes and have experience with Open Space Technology and other such \'here and now\' methodologies I speak Kiswahili fluently and have interests in the African church and its theology. I research and write on mission, ministry, contextual theology and theological education. I am a spiritual director and experience a personal calling to contemplative prayer. Specialities: adult theological education and learning processes, missiology, practical theology, reflective practice, mentoring, leadership, african theology, inculturation, contextual theology, especially in England, spiritual direction, conference delivery, journal editing.
