ABOUT NIGEL BALL
Hello, I am Nigel, a designer, educator and writer based in Ipswich in the UK.I have over 20 years\' experience as a design educator spanning teaching, curriculum development, research, knowledge exchange and leadership roles across both further and higher education. I am currently a Senior Lecturer in Graphic Design at the University of Suffolk and an External Examiner for the undergraduate Graphic Design courses at the University of Hertfordshire and Raffles College, Indonesia.I have written widely about graphic design, visual culture and creative education, and my research has included outputs of co-curated exhibitions, public lectures and self-published photobooks and texts. I am on the board of reviewers for the Intellect journal, Art, Design and Communication in Higher Education.Alongside my writing and teaching, I continue to take on graphic design consultation work, dedicating my services to clients from the cultural, public and third sectors. I sit on the Ipswich Conservation and Design Panel, and I am a member of the board of trustees for the arts organisation and charity, SPILL Festival.
