The UK SMALL MODULAR REACTOR (UK-SMR) has been derived to deliver a market driven, affordable, low carbon, energy generation capability. The design is based on optimised and enhanced use of proven technologies that presents a class leading safety outlook and attractive market offering with minimum regulatory risk. The UK-SMR programme is ideally placed to take advantage of the latest in SECURE DIGITAL TECHNOLOGIES, adapting existing solutions and implementing new ideas to provide a level of data fidelity and information not seen before in the nuclear industry. Digitally enabled through-life asset management will allow operators to manage their fleet assets efficiently and effectively, reducing unplanned outages and improving security of supply. We are building an ambitious UK-SMR DIGITAL VISION to ensure that emerging digital technologies including artificial intelligence, block-chain, fast data and emerging digital technologies are fully embraced. By actively co-creating with a vibrant digital eco-system the UK-SMR programme will embrace the latest thinking in software engineering, deep learning, machine learning and data innovation. In addition, R² Data Labs are continually seeking opportunities to apply data innovation and emerging technology to deliver x10 growth and efficiency outcomes across all of Rolls-Royces Businesses. Through our network of AI Hubs in London, Berlin and Bangalore we are able to combine our business intuition with a deep knowledge of advanced technology, Business Architecture, Enterprise Architecture and data into innovative products.
