The Energy Institute (EI) is the leading Chartered professional body for the energy industry. A membership organisation, incorporated by Royal Charter in 2003, the EI supports over individuals and 250 companies across 100 countries. The EI is licensed by the Engineering Council (UK) to offer Chartered, Incorporated and Engineering Technician status to Engineers, the Science Council to award Chartered Scientist status, and also licensed by the Society for the Environment to award Chartered Environmentalist status.The Aberdeen, Highlands & Islands Branch is the largest in the EI. A voluntary role co-ordinating membership applications and upgrades as well as organising and running an active monthly technical programme of presenters.
