Nib Consulting ltd and MDSCC ltd are business partners. Together with Marisa de Jager a social work manager, we formed the SharedVision partnership to uplift safeguarding practice through the widest potential use of social media as a platform for professional conversation and thought. SharedVision delivers specialist consulting support and training to all safeguarding professions creating innovation and change through its work. SharedVision also runs the #voc #childsvoice campaign. http://nibsharedvision.uk/voice-of-the-childEach child has the same rights under the United Nations Convention for the Rights of the Child (UNCRC) but many in the UK are in a situation or life spaces where they are not afforded them in part or full. The current Children’s Commissioner for England has recognised many of these issues and identified some as her priorities for 2017/18. These resonate with the vision and desire of Chickenshed and Shared Vision. She will focus on: • Digital children • Invisible children • Missing children • Children behind closed doors • Children in care Social exclusion or the risk of it and/ or living without a voice is a reality for many thousands of children in the UK. This is damaging to them and reduces many children’s life chances and in some cases life expectancy. Society and its fabric suffer as well in terms of crime, avoidable social intervention costs and a wealth of untapped knowledge and innovation from children who are unable to participate in societies mainstream or who are not seen or heard. Social exclusion and children with no voice is costly to society and the children directly affected. We are committed to creating a new, dynamic and truly integrated safeguarding conversation across all the professions through the best use of modern technology and social media. We intend to remove all structural and professional boundaries which at present are preventing true partnership delivery of services.

ABOUT NIGEL BOULTON
Nigel served as a Police officer and has over 35 years of experience in organisational leadership, management and innovation together with a strong background in safeguarding professional practice. Nigel spent most of his career as a Detective serving for 11 years as a Detective Superintendent leading and managing the investigation of Homicide and Serious and Organised Crime enquiries which included safeguarding enquiries concerning children and vulnerable adults. He worked extensively in the UK and abroad. He designed and delivered the original concept of Multi Agency Safeguarding Hubs, the true design of which draws on his experiences dealing with risk assessment and decision making. He now works with both statutory and non-statutory organisations with Marisa de Jager, his social work partner within Nib SharedVision, to ensure all children and vulnerable adults are afforded protection from and support in relation to need, harm and risk. Nigel undertakes safeguarding reviews for the private, public, charity and museum sector and he supports the Local Government Association peer review process as a specialist peer in relation to safeguarding. Nib SharedVision also raises and captures the child\'s voice in unique ways allowing policy makers and commissioners to design and deliver services which are focused on the needs of children and young people as well as influencing changes to social work and policing practice. He has co-authored the safeguarding publication: Multi Agency Safeguarding in a Public Protection World. A handbook for protecting children and vulnerable adults.
