ABOUT NIDHI MAHENDRA

I have been a professor, researcher, and leader in Speech-Language Pathology for 20 years. Currently I am a Professor in the Department of Head and Neck Surgery and Communication Sciences at the Duke University School of Medicine and the Division Chief of Speech-Language Pathology. I direct the READI (Research and Education on Aging, Aphasia and Dementia Interventions) lab and my research expertise is in healthy aging, and neurologic communication disorders - dementia, aphasia, and mild cognitive impairment. I also have experience and expertise in health equity, academic and clinical education, and academic leadership. I\'m passionate about speech-language pathology and communication sciences, and the long-term health impact of language and cognitive interventions on functioning and quality of life.
