About Nidal Daou
I hold a Ph.D. in Psychology with a specialization and clinical experience in Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) and autism. My clinical work and research are focused on social interaction and independent engagement of children and adolescents on the autism spectrum, factors affecting stigma associated with autism, and, inspired by the neurodiversity movement, I recently found a great interest in encouraging a participatory research approach in ABA. I view this approach as a critical dimension of social validity that would facilitate stronger collaborations with other autism researchers and autistic self-advocates. I have a special interest in advocacy for vulnerable populations, and in ethical conduct and professionalism relevant to the practice and teaching of ABA.
