ABOUT NICOLA VECE
Transitioning to full-stack after 20 years in digital product design and frontend development. For two decades, I’ve designed and built digital products—booking platforms, e-commerce solutions, and client websites—where design, functionality, and code had to align and ship reliably. I wrote the HTML/CSS/JavaScript, worked within PHP/WordPress environments, shaped UI/UX, translated product requirements, solved production issues, and delivered working solutions. I was often the person teams turned to when something complex needed to ship.In 2025, I completed an intensive 8-month full-stack programme, formalising my engineering skills across modern web technologies: React and Angular on the frontend (with exposure to React Native), Node.js/Express and Python/Django on the backend, RESTful APIs, relational databases (PostgreSQL, SQLite via ORMs), NoSQL databases, and modern testing practices. I’m early in my backend journey, but I learn fast, think in systems thanks to years of product work, and know how to take a solution from concept to production. What I bring that most junior developers don’t: 20 years of professional maturity, strong product instincts, real-world client experience, and robust frontend fundamentals. I’m looking for a team that values someone who can bridge design, frontend, and backend, learn quickly, and take ownership of problems end-to-end.Right now, I’m particularly interested in AI development and agentic systems—fields where strong foundations, curiosity, and adaptability matter more than years in a specific framework.Tech stack• Strong: HTML5, CSS3, modern JavaScript (frontend / front-end), responsive UI implementation, component-based thinking• Currently working with: TypeScript, React, Angular, Node.js, Express, RESTful APIs, PostgreSQL, SQLite (via ORMs), SQL fundamentals, MongoDB, Python, Django, automated testing practices• Background / legacy: jQuery, PHP, WordPress, client-facing product work, production troubleshootingLooking for• Full-stack role (junior to mid-level, hybrid/remote welcome) where I can contribute immediately on the frontend while deepening backend expertise and working on modern web or AI-driven products.
