ABOUT NICO SOMMI

I\'m a husband and the father of two wonderful kids and I currently live in Berlin.I\'m working as Software Engineer since 2004.I got my Systems engineer degree in 2012.I’m an expert in the javascript world, and I tend to use Typescript on almost every project.I\'ve experience in infrastructure and backend technologies, using containers, Kubernetes, Golang, Terraform.I love the challenge of building better products, iteratively improving application architecture quality attributes, while growing great high performance teams.Currently I’m pushing critical company wide business priorities through the finish line, like rolling out a multistep custom onboarding globally, and enabling the automation of the verification process for companies, as well as improving performance and project sustainability.We lifted auto verification for companies from 0 to 50% and streamlined the activation process with a simple onboarding system that adjusts to user responses and their markets, enabling also experimentation.While I lead the engineering topics, I focus on the front end part and I enable the expansion and contribution from other teams as well.Highlights on sustainability I focus on besides the business are core vitals, observability dev flow and our testing strategy. We went for deploying blindly to proactively fix most of our major issues before they are deployed and or reported.I also lead the mentoring and coaching in technical topics, and spreading good practices within the team.I enjoy learning by testing, reading, watching and listening frequently to new techs and practices.I worked for all different sizes of companies, big, medium, and startups, wearing many hats.This means I worked with complex processes, integrations, detailed user experiences, and many different technologies.
