ABOUT NICOLINA HERNANDEZ

Nicolina has fifteen years of experience in the California legislative, regulatory and political arena. Directly advocates before governing bodies. Strengths in strategy development, creative communications, and public affairs built on trust.Short Biography:Nicolina joined Sempra Energy Utilities in 2018 and manages various legislative issues including wildfire mitigation, privacy, supplier diversity, and environmental issues among others. She has a decade of experience in the legislative, regulatory and political arena directly advocating before governing bodies. Nicolina previously represented diverse interests including public agency associations and Fortune 500 corporations. She began her career as a California State Senate Fellow, and worked for two Bay Area legislators before joining the private sector. As an alumna of the Hispanas Organized for Political Equality (HOPE) Leadership Institute, Nicolina now serves as a member of the Board of Directors. She is also a Board Member on the Aggie Square Public Financing Authority, Commissioner for the City of Sacramento Planning and Design Commission, and previously served as member of the City of Sacramento’s Mayoral Task Force on Future Economic Growth. Nicolina was formerly elected to serve on the California Latino Capitol Association (CLCA) Board two consecutive years. She is a McNair Scholar and earned a bachelor\'s degree from Carleton College in Minnesota. Nicolina is from the rural town of Del Rey in California’s Central Valley.
