Oxendine created and organizes Art at the Mills, a comprehensive community-driven arts program for the Rocky Mount Mills development, Eastern North Carolina’s largest live-work-play destination. A firm believer in the abundance our communities have to offer, Oxendine focuses on working with local organizations and artists to coordinate contextualized and relevant programming to gather communities. Under Oxendine’s direction, Art at the Mills has produced an ongoing Community Conversations series, First Friday art receptions, numerous dance and musical performances, and, most recently, a retrospective of Nelson Mandela’s original artwork.
