ABOUT NICOLE

After earning my Bachelor of Science in Advertising from The University of Texas at Austin (Hook ‘em! 🤘), I began my career in social media and content creation. While I did well in this role, I felt a desire for something more fulfilling. Exploring different industries and interacting with professionals from diverse backgrounds, I developed an interest in web development. Despite lacking prior experience in software engineering, I took a leap of faith and enrolled in App Academy to pursue this newfound passion, solidifying my decision to transition into this field. At App Academy, I delved into full-stack web development, learning JavaScript, Python, React, Flask, HTML, CSS, and more. Through various projects, such as collaborating on a Spotify clone with three other engineers, I enhanced my skills. This project taught me to seamlessly connect front-end and back-end systems, craft user-friendly interfaces, and manage multimedia content on AWS S3 buckets. Leveraging my background in advertising, I bring a unique blend of skills—organization, attention to detail, and leadership—to software engineering. I am eager to apply these capabilities to contribute to impactful and innovative projects. Looking ahead, I am dedicated to learning and growing in this ever-changing field, with hopes of exploring artificial intelligence and mobile app development.
