Managing accounting and human resources functions for the largest racehorse adoption program in the country. New Vocations serves more than 500 horses a year. Founded in 1992, New Vocations\' mission to rehabilitate, retrain and rehome retired racehorses has led to the placement of over individuals. With facilities in Kentucky, Louisiana, New York, Ohio, Florida and Pennsylvania, New Vocations serves over 40 racetracks, working directly with owners and trainers in need of equine aftercare options. Responsibilities include- Maintaining accounting records in Quickbooks- Account reconciliations - Accounts payable & receivable- Financial reporting and budgeting- Creating and maintaining accounting policies and procedures and implementing controls- External audit and Form 990 filing liaison with external accountant- Federal, state and local filing compliance- Nonprofit tax donation receipts to donors- Payroll processing, including federal, state and local filings- Benefits administration for SIMPLE 401(k) and group health plan- Employee performance management- New hire onboarding and employee record management- Maintaining employee handbook and creating policies and procedures
