About Nicole Balkissoon
I\'m a first-year Renée Crown Honors student and 1870 Scholar at Syracuse University\'s School of Information Studies and the College of Arts & Sciences, pursuing a double major in Information Management & Technology (concentration in Cybersecurity) and Political Philosophy.My focus is on the intersection of technology, security, and governance, not just understanding how systems work, but examining how policy frameworks and ethical reasoning shape the way we secure and regulate them. Through coursework and hands-on experience, I\'ve built a foundation in technical research, collaborative problem-solving, and applied security thinking.Currently, I design 3D models at the NEXIS Technology Lab and conduct UX research as a Student Library Advisory Board Ambassador. These roles have strengthened my ability to bridge classroom knowledge with real-world challenges, from additive manufacturing research to improving user-facing systems.I\'m actively seeking internship opportunities in cybersecurity and technology policy where I can contribute meaningfully while continuing to grow.
