About Nicole Aveni

I am currently a senior Accountancy student at Miami University\'s Farmer School of Business. During my time at Miami, I\'ve taken challenging courses that strengthened my critical thinking skills, such as business computing, computational thinking, business statistics, and foundations of business communications. Furthermore, one of my past experiences at Miami that allowed me to enhance my problem solving and software skills was my engagement in the First-Year Integrated Core Client Challenge in the spring of 2020. This project allowed me to collaborate with a team from a virtual platform to create an innovative solution and also demonstrate ideas to business professionals. Through this program and several other classes at Miami, I have gained experience using software such as SQL, JavaScript, Microsoft Excel and Access making me more prepared to utilize these skills in the accounting profession. Over the past three years, I have further developed my communication and customer service skills working as a cashier at Gale’s Garden Center in Willoughby Hills, Ohio. I am responsible for collecting payments, handling returns, and answering questions that customers may have about our products. I am looking forward to gaining experience and enhancing my professional and personal skills through a full-time offer at Plante Moran in their Assurance department starting next fall.
