Care for the Springs Preserve living collection in accordance with established animal care guidelines of the USDA and American Zoo and Aquarium Association.· Collaborate with veterinarian concerning animal health.· Monitor native wildlife species and corresponding habitats. · Desert Tortoise tracking, utilizing radio transmitters that are used to track the tortoises\' movements, including Mojave Max. Mojave Max is a live tortoise that serves as the official mascot to the Clark County Desert Conservation Program. · The Mojave Max education program, teaching school children how to respect and protect Desert Tortoises and enjoy our desert ecosystem.· Relic Leopard Frog and Pahrump Poolfish demo carts. · Assist the Nevada Department of Wildlife with Pahrump Poolfish marking, trapping, and counting. · Assist the Nevada Department of Wildlife with trapping, counting, and keeping endangered leopard frogs under observation.· Capture exhibit and quarantine foxes in crates for weighing and nail trimming · Capture exhibit Cottontail Rabbits in crates, scan for identification and to make sure microchips are functioning correctly and weighing. · Butterfly Habitat: Releasing butterflies, habitat maintenance, feeding and watering.· Water changes, habitat monitoring and maintenance of exhibit and quarantine Relic Leopard Frogs · Administer medication and provide treatment procedures to sick or injured animals.· Handle dangerous and unpredictable animals with extreme care and caution. · Responsible for the proper care, husbandry, and welfare of Springs Preserve animal collection, enclosures, furnishings, diets, and QoL assessments ensuring the highest practical level of animal care.· Knowledge of species-specific enrichment, provide enrichment to enhance the environment for preserve animals. · Venomous animals’ feeding, weighting, and optimal care. · Retrieval and assistance of injured or deceased animals in the property.
