Practice includes all areas of commercial real estate, including the acquisition, sale, financing, leasing and management of office, retail, and industrial projects. Experience includes the representation of borrowers and financial institutions in loan transactions, including golf course lending, and the representation of institutional property owners in the leasing, management and financing of investment properties across the country, with an emphasis on retail. I also represent many national and regional developers in the development and sale of various shopping center projects and medical office buildings. I am a co-owner and Member of a multi-faceted real estate company involved in the acquisition, leasing and management of various Section 8 housing projects, and residential apartment management and leasing, including responsibility for tax and insurance related matters. I also have experience in the development of mixed-use housing projects, as well as extensive experience in acquiring foreclosure and short-sale properties for clients. My experience also includes representation of clients in corporate and business management matters, including the formation and certification of Minority and Women’s Business Enterprises, and the satisfaction of MBE/WBE compliance requirements. I\'ve also assisted clients in the preparation of requests for proposals and requests for qualifications required by various governmental agencies in the competitive bidding process. I was a recent speaker at the International Council of Shopping Centers legal conference, and I have contributed to a chapter in Callaghan\'s Appellate Advocacy Manual entitled \"The Thinking Process; Neuro-Linguistic Programming and the Law,\" and co-authored an article in Commercial Leasing Law and Strategy entitled \"Drafting Collateral Agreements to Secure the Landlord’s Rights.\"I am a Member of CREW Chicago, the International Council of Shopping Centers and the Chicago Bar Association, serving as a committee member of both the Animal Law Section and the Real Estate Section. I am also on the PAWS Chicago Development Board, and a Board Member of Earth Concerns International.
