ABOUT NICOLE MCKINNEY

Dr. Nicole McKinney is the CEO of Collaborative Health Network, North Carolina’s leading provider-owned behavioral health clinically integrated network. Under her visionary leadership, the organization is redefining whole-person care through a value-based model that prioritizes measurable outcomes, equity, and sustainable health transformation. A licensed clinical mental health counselor, Dr. McKinney brings a rare combination of clinical acumen and strategic leadership. She holds a Ph.D. in Industrial and Organizational Psychology, an M.S. in Counseling Psychology, and a B.S. in Psychology, complemented by certifications in Lean Six Sigma and Change Management. With over two decades of experience in clinical service delivery, executive leadership, and organizational transformation, Dr. McKinney is a nationally recognized strategist and award-winning operations executive. Her work has catalyzed meaningful change across healthcare and government sectors, with a focus on social impact, workforce well-being, and systems innovation. Her diverse background spans Medicaid-managed care, behavioral health, reproductive health, DEI, and public service. She has served on numerous advisory boards and has been honored with accolades, including Charlotte’s 50 Most Influential Women and Nonprofit HR’s 2024 “25 Social Impact Women to Watch.” Dr. McKinney’s leadership is grounded in a deep commitment to equity, access, and dismantling systemic barriers in healthcare. Originally from Charleston, SC, she now resides in Charlotte with her husband, two daughters, and their dog.
