ABOUT NICOLE MARCINKEVICS
I am a Principal for Parkland School Division with a strong background in transformative practices. I have a M. Ed. in Early Learning and am passionate about implementing 21st Century Teaching and Learning theory, documenting authentic project based learning, and facilitating learning through play. I recently completed my MBA with a focus on leadership and organizational strategy.I have developed my skills as an instructional leader with my experiences of creating and facilitating professional development sessions but also by refining my knowledge of reading to plan and implement literacy interventions. To put my learning to practice and build my capacity as a leader, I have supported Alberta AdaptAbilities Association over the past few years as a leader, coordinator and facilitator for major Edmonton area events.I am interested in school administration and divisional leadership roles but also intrigued by opportunities that could allow me to pivot to alternate career paths that would enable me to fully utilize my skill set. I believe that leaders are those around us that demonstrate excellence and I believe I demonstrate excellence in many ways by adding value every opportunity I get. I have the experience, skills, and innovativeness of a transformative educator as well as the specialized knowledge that makes me an instructional leader passionate about the field of Early Learning. While I continue striving to be a transformative educator and an instructional leader passionate about the field of Early Learning, my MBA program contributed to my growth as a well rounded organizational leader with diversified leadership and business administration skills essential for management roles in or outside of schools.
