About Nicole Koch

Nicole Koch has worked in the solar industry in earnest since 2007. She began behind the scenes, in development and finance with Technicians For Sustainability (TFS). She has held numerous roles over her time there, including outreach and marketing, human resources and business development. The company was growing rapidly when she started, and as an early member of the team, she helped to establish TFS as the leader in residential solar energy systems in Southern Arizona. Nicole worked to build the TFS team to over 75 staff, co-creating a company culture of prioritizing people and the environment, alongside a pride in the highest quality of the craft. In 2017, with her guidance and support, TFS transitioned to an employee-owned cooperative, transferring ownership from a single member LLC, to 29 co-owners, and growing each year. The last few years, she\'s been featured as a speaker to share the possibilities that employee-owned ventures offer for a more equitable and democratic economy. Nicole obtained a Bachelor\'s of Science in Communication from the Arizona State University, and finds she uses at least a few of the skills she obtained in the process.
