Supervises and directs the work of all primary principals, assists in the general supervision of operational and instructional initiatives for 10 primary schools and focuses the organizational work on student achievement-Supervises, evaluates, and directs the work of all principals-Monitors the supervision and evaluation of teachers by school principals-Approves and recommends hiring, placement, separation, transfers, and allocations of certified and non-certified staff members in school programs-Approves annual plans developed by principals for the improvement of the educational program and services in each school-Ensures vertical articulation of the educational programs PreK through Grade 12-Assists all central administrators and department staff in carrying out duties directly related to schools and programs, including curriculum development, program evaluation, staff development, graduation requirements, and instructional materials selection-Reviews and approves estimates of personnel and salary needs for staffing purposes and monitors reports on salary expenditures-Reviews the schools’ instructional budgets with the principals to ensure that resources are effectively used-Involves school principals and staff members in the development of educational programs aligned to school improvement plans-Prepares and issues principal and teacher bulletins, handbooks, and administrative memoranda-Identifies potential principals and administrative personnel to assist with the design of professional development for administrators-Reviews and adjusts building schedules to ensure equity and excellence of programs-Represents the Superintendent in deliberations and discussions with the Areas of Consultation and other employee groups-Serves as a member of the administrative negotiating team.
