ABOUT NICOLE CHERE WOOD

I am a seasoned people and protective leader with over 25 years of experience guiding teams and complex systems through change, growth, and uncertainty across federal, nonprofit, and international contexts. My work centers on developing resilient, sustainable programs and supporting people with clarity, empathy, and sound judgment—particularly in environments shaped by transition or crisis. Grounded in trauma-informed practice, I lead with a steady, relational approach that prioritizes psychological safety, operational effectiveness, and healthy work-life balance.Over the course of my career, I have overseen large-scale initiatives addressing emergency preparedness, response and recovery, human trafficking prevention, public health equity, and organizational resilience, including work with U.S. federal agencies and international organizations. I have supported tens of thousands of nonprofit and government leaders through program development, training, and capacity-building efforts. Rooted in public health and seminary training, I am especially drawn to people-centered leadership and program stewardship roles that are globally relevant, sustainable, and aligned with purpose, dignity, and long-term impact.
