About Nicole Campbell

I began my engineering education at the University of Pittsburgh Swanson School of Engineering in the Fall of 2010. After transferring over 50 credits from Duquesne, I spent my first semester going back to the basics. In the Spring of 2011, I declared my degree path as Civil Engineering. In the Fall of 2011, I decided on a concentration in Construction Management and Sustainability. Also at that time, I was offered an 3-rotation internship (or co-op, as it\'s called at Pitt) with Mascaro Construction. Thrilled to have been given the opportunity to gain valuable experience with such a reputable firm, I started my co-op as an estimator in the Heavy Highway/Industrial/Power division in the Summer of 2012. The summer turned out to be very busy, so I was able to participate in many different bid projects. During the Fall of 2012, while taking a full course-load, I stayed on part time with Mascaro working for the Virtual Construction department. I learned how to create 3D BIM models while developing, finalizing and testing a costing-database. In December of 2012, I was asked to join the team at Allegheny Ludlum (ATI) as a project engineer. I continued to work part time at ATI during the Summer of 2013 while completing another 13-credit semester, then returned full-time through January 2014. I finished my final semester at Pitt while working part time estimating in the main office. I officially began my career with Mascaro in June, 2014. I worked as a Project Engineer from June 2014 unitl Feb 2022, when I transitioned into a Project Manager role. In January of 2023, I moved back into our main office full time, as part of our BIM/VDC Team. As of October 2024, my official role became BIM.VDC Manager. In May 2024, I became a credentialed BIM profession by earning my Certificate of Management in Building Information Modeling.
