About Nicole Boisson

I am an emerging environmental and political scientist with a deep passion for conservation, sustainability, and the intersection of policy and the natural world. I graduated Cum Laude from the University of Central Florida in May 2024, earning dual degrees: a Bachelor of Science in Environmental Studies and a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science, along with a GIS Certificate. As an honors student, I developed a strong understanding of global environmental challenges and the ecosystems that sustain us.Throughout my academic and professional journey, I’ve honed my collaboration and leadership skills and have worked in a variety of roles. While at UCF, I managed a community garden at the heart of the urban campus, worked with faculty and staff to enhance green initiatives, and gained hands-on research experience as a Research Assistant at the UCF Aquatic Biogeochemistry Laboratory, studying blue carbon storage in oyster reefs to better understand coastal carbon sequestration.Post graduation, I served as a trip leader with the Udall Foundation in Tucson, Arizona. I guided youth-focused environmental and leadership development activities, and taught photography. This experience allowed me to further develop my leadership abilities while empowering young people to engage with pressing environmental issues and inspire positive change.Currently, I am a full time environmental scientist for the Southwest Florida Water Management District, working to ensure Florida’s water resources are protected.Focused, driven, and technology-savvy, I am eager to contribute my skills to the world of environmental policy and sustainability. I am committed to advancing meaningful change through collaboration, education, and innovative solutions.
