Some people were born to teach. It took me 10 years in a corporate, male-dominated industry, to learn that I was best suited for being an entrepreneur. I remember leaving Alltech, my first career opportunity out of college where I was gifted the ability to travel globally, participate in cutting-edge research around gut health, and learn my value. The owner of the company told me he’d support me in anything I chose to do when I left. He always saw the best in me and was a significant influence on my entrepreneurial path. Opening a Salt Cave was not a lifelong dream. It was a business model that supported my local community with health issues that plague the area and allowed me to work in the field of mindfulness which I had practiced regularly for 20 years. I was on the verge of becoming a meditation teacher and the Cave was a great opportunity to further this. From the moment she opened, my spiritual life expanded beyond any foreseeable place. It became the foundation from which I operate and has brought a holistic lens to the business. I became a certified Breathwork facilitator in 2018 and Reiki Master in 2021. Both of these modalities are offered at the Cave and my private practice is available through ndavisbartlett.com. I’ve been practicing these modalities and writing a blog since 2017 and recently transferred this practice to ndavisbartlett.medium.com/ The Cave has served over clients since its inception in preventative respiratory health and mental ease. My passion for holistic wellness and community healing drives the concept that we all have the ability to self-heal in some capacity. We must consider the mind, body, and spirit whenever discussing whole health. In addition to running a business, I enjoy time with my husband, 3 children, a cat, and a bearded dragon. I live in the garden as much as possible and am intentional about listening to Earth’s whispers. It is essential that we give back to the Earth for what we take. I look forward to the opportunities that life offers when I get to meet an individual at a soul level. There is so much more at play than we’ll ever know, and that for me is the beauty of living.

   Louisville Salt Cave was born of the idea that prevention makes for a more enjoyable life. I spent 10 years in animal nutrition marketing preventative food to producers who were raising animals for profit. Seeing how these animals are cared for nutritionally compared to how we care for ourselves was an eye-opening truth to wellness. My work-life balance wasn’t conducive to starting a family and yoga just wasn’t cutting it for managing stress. I wanted freedom to create my own schedule and was exploring meditation for living in tune with life instead of trying to escape it. The Louisville Salt Cave was born of these needs.Over the past 6 years, the Louisville Salt Cave has served over people whether celebrating life events or managing allergy symptoms or waking up to the life they want to live. The salt therapy available during sessions helps to ease conditions triggered by inflammation and the space itself holds individuals for emotional processing that may not even be conscious. Heartmath Institute has conducted studies where groups of meditators come together to lower crime rates in specific geographies. We consider the community sessions at the Louisville Salt Cave one small step toward doing just that by offering a place for people to go inside to create their outside.
