About Nicole Andress
I was fortunate to discover my professional passion early - at 21 - when I began managing my first senior community and realized how much joy and fulfillment I found in serving older adults. What began as my first \'career\' role became a calling: creating environments where people feel safe, valued, and genuinely cared for. I discovered that my greatest strengths sit at the intersection of analytics and human-centered leadership: a head for numbers, a heart for service, and a natural inclination toward building systems that bring clarity, efficiency, and stability to complex operations. As my career evolved and I began leading larger and more diverse teams, my leadership philosophy became grounded in a strong sense of responsibility for the people I lead. I see leadership as stewardship: I am accountable not only for outcomes, but for the wellbeing, growth, and day-to-day experience of my teams. I believe high-performing teams are not built through pressure, but through trust, clarity, consistency, and a shared pursuit of excellence. My goal is to create environments where people are challenged and supported simultaneously - where success is driven by thoughtfully designed systems rather than sheer effort alone. As James Clear says,\"we don’t rise to the level of our goals; we fall to the level of our systems\". I invest in designing systems that create clarity, reduce stress, and allow for consistent 1% improvements that compound into meaningful, notable results over time, so that excellence becomes sustainable, not exhausting.I care deeply about my teams as people, and want them to enjoy coming to work, feel proud of what they do, and know that their personal ambitions and wellbeing matter. In my experience, excellence is a natural byproduct of environments where people feel both safe and empowered, and for that reason, I create opportunities for connection, levity, and joy in the workplace. At the heart of my work is a simple belief: success is only meaningful when it enhances the quality of life for those we serve and those who serve alongside us. I strive to lead with care, integrity, and intention so my teams can do exceptional work without sacrificing their happiness or health. I welcome meaningful connections and conversations. Asset Manager
Resources for Community Development
Apr 2024 — Present
As an Asset Manager at Resources for Community Development (RCD), I oversee a diverse portfolio of 20 affordable housing communities, ranging from 12 to 126 units, including multifamily, senior, and special needs properties. I ensure the long-term financial health and regulatory compliance of each asset, with a deep understanding of reporting requirements for CA HCD, TCAC (LIHTC), HUD, CDLAC, CalHFA, and local Public Housing Authorities. My daily responsibilities include analyzing property financials, collaborating with third-party property managers to implement performance strategies, and proactively identifying risks and opportunities to support the long-term viability of the portfolio. I work closely with cross-functional teams to advance capital planning, green operations, and community stewardship—aligning RCD’s mission with investor and stakeholder expectations.RCD owns and operates 3,065 affordable homes ( & growing!) across 64 sites in 25 cities and five counties. I’m proud to contribute to the organization’s goal of maintaining properties in strong financial and physical condition while creating welcoming and vibrant homes for over 5,450 residents.
