ABOUT NICOLA SIMPSON.

I’m a Marketing Director with 25+ years’ experience leading brand, customer and strategic marketing across established UK organisations - particularly in membership, leisure, charity, retail and service-led sectors. I bring calm, informed judgement to complex commercial environments, uncovering what’s really happening for customers and translating that insight into clear action that drives performance and people forward. I work at the intersection of strategy, creativity and customer experience, helping organisations clarify direction, strengthen their brand and deliver meaningful, sustainable results. Much of my career has been spent working closely with CEOs and senior leadership teams - shaping strategy, leading rebrands and proposition development, and designing end-to-end customer journeys that balance commercial objectives with real human needs. I’m at my best in complex, ambiguous environments where there’s something to solve, build or re-imagine. I love uncovering what’s really happening beneath the surface - in customer behaviour, team dynamics and commercial performance and turning that insight into clarity.I naturally spot patterns in messy environments and use calm, informed judgement to make sense of them. That clarity restores control, builds momentum and aligns people around what really matters. I help organisations truly understand what makes their customers tick, remove friction in journeys and simplify what has become overcomplicated. How I work matters to me. I’m a collaborative, people-focused leader, known for bringing calm, clarity and momentum. I focus on translating strategy into delivery while creating the conditions for people to do their best work.I’m drawn to organisations where values are genuinely lived, marketing has a seat at the table, and leadership is thoughtful, authentic and ambitious. I’m currently in an interim leadership role and open to conversations about senior permanent or fixed-term senior roles where I can make a meaningful contribution.
