The UKRI AI Centre for Doctoral Training (CDT) in Designing Responsible Natural Language Processing is based at the University of Edinburgh. Our CDT is supporting 55+ PhD students from a diverse range of domains and interests, to develop the skills and expertise needed to ensure NLP systems are responsibly designed, deployed and overseen, and trusted by citizens and societies. I lead our work with partners, including over 70 partners across industry, academia, policy making, and the third sector; and I lead on Equality, Diversity and Inclusion, ensuring our CDT is an inclusive and welcoming space for all, and supporting our students to reflect on their own approaches and inclusive practices including in public engagement spaces.
