ABOUT NICOLA ITRO
As a kid, I used to sneak downstairs at 6am to watch Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. And now, I get to help create shows, movies and games that are just as iconic as the ones I grew up watching. If it isn\'t already obvious - I absolutely love what I do. I leverage creative sound design techniques to create immersive soundscapes that emotionally connect with film lovers, gamers, and cartoon enthusiasts of all ages, backgrounds and languages. With years of post-production skills, such as mixing, editing, foley, and music production, I possess all the secret ingredients that give content its \'wow\' factor. Collaboration is where I shine; I love people, and I love team work. Over the years, I\'ve had the honour of working with some of the most talented people in the industry and with some of the most iconic brands that produce top-tier creative content, such as Matell, YouTube, Netflix, and Cartoon Network, and Warner Brothers. In my portfolio, you can find sound effects, audio implementation, voice over recording and dubbing for much-loved movies such as Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them, Lego Batman, Wonder Woman, and Suicide Squad. My showreel is also full of successful kids\' TV titles such as Teletubbies, Fireman Sam, Caillou, Polly Pocket, and Emoji Town. As the senior sound designer at the world\'s leading independent kids\' content company, WildBrain, I\'ve had the honour of leading the sound design department for titles that have reached millions of subscribers on YouTube. This includes. WildBrain Kids: 7.23M subscribers Teletubbies: 3.79M subscribers Caillou: 2.39M subscribers Emoji Town: 1.84M subscribers Billy Bricks: 1.41M subscribers These fantastic achievements have only been possible thanks to the talent and dedication to teamwork and innovation within the audio post-production team. We have built a fine-tuned workflow that has allowed us to get record-breaking views during the pandemic and beyond. I\'ve also had the honour of supporting and mentoring junior sound designers and editors, helping them to refine their creative direction and master their post-production skills with software such as Pro Tools, Wwise, Reaper and FMOD. I\'m always looking for a new challenge and to branch out into new realms of audio and music production - particularly within animation and game audio. If you\'ve got a new exciting project you think I\'d be a good fit for, reach out via DM - I\'m always happy to chat and network with other professionals and companies.
