ABOUT NICOLA YOUNG

I have over 18 years’ experience of advising and supporting businesses and individuals on employment issues. I work with a wide range of clients, from individuals and SMEs, professional sports clubs, sporting organisations and National Governing Bodies of sport, through to large multinational organisations, across a variety of sectors.I work closely with my clients in dealing with workplace issues and disputes. I am supportive, reliable and responsive. I provide sound strategic advice that is straight forward to implement. I like my clients to feel that I am part of their extended team.I provide advice on all aspects of employment law, including TUPE, redundancy and restructuring, settlement agreements, restrictive covenant disputes, discrimination and harassment, disciplinaries and grievances, performance and absence management as well as Employment Tribunal litigation. I also draft, review and update contractual and policy documentation, including employment contracts, consultancy agreements and Staff Handbooks, to ensure the content is legally compliant and adequately protects the interests of the parties. I handle internal investigations, including discrimination, bullying and harassment and help businesses implement policies and processes.With regards to my individual clients, I advise them with regards to workplace disputes (including disciplinaries, grievances, performance management and redundancy procedures), on the terms and effect of signing settlement agreements, on breach of their restrictive covenants as alleged by former employers and with regards to Employment Tribunal claims.
