ABOUT NICOLA TRENDEL

I’m passionate about making information visible and actionable – at the right place and at the right time. I have approached this goal in two ways:1. The Big Picture – Connecting the Healthcare Ecosystem:Having seen people close to me not only suffer from illness but also struggle to navigate a fragmented healthcare system, I’ve made it my mission to simplify and improve access to care. Patient experiences span an ecosystem of stakeholders, and this is where I thrive. I enjoy moving between players and connecting the dots. I experienced basic research in immunology to be used for the treatment of patients first-hand during my Ph.D. at Oxford University. As a consultant at McKinsey, I worked closely with top management across R&D, clinical development, and payors, gaining insight into the broader ecosystem. Now at m.Doc, I help shape digital solutions that improve communication between providers (hospitals and clinics) and patients – tackling persistent challenges like interface design and information accessibility.2. Business Operations – Making Systems Work:For the ecosystem to function, every stakeholder needs an efficient operational backbone. I enjoy optimizing business processes, particularly where human factors come into play. What makes information truly actionable for the right person at the right time?
