ABOUT NICO BETHEA

I\'m Ashleigh Bethea, based in Greensboro, NC, and I\'m passionate about making a positive impact through education and community engagement. In my role as a Theatrical Sales Representative, I\'ve had the privilege of promoting and selling tickets for renowned Broadway Shows like Lion King, Hamilton, and Mean Girls. I excel in efficiently managing merchandise inventory, handling cash registers, and enhancing customer satisfaction through upselling. My dedication to education and community development extends to my time as the Assistant Director at Rock Hill Missionary Baptist Church. There, I crafted engaging lesson plans for children aged 4-14, ensuring they continued to learn during the crucial summer months. I also organized enriching field trips, blending recreation and education to create memorable experiences for campers. My skill set encompasses proficiency in Microsoft Word and Google Drive, along with CPR and babysitting certifications. Effective written and oral communication, combined with my status as a certified substitute teacher, underpin my ability to engage and connect with others. Beyond my professional journey, I am deeply committed to community engagement. As a Teach for America Fellow, I advocate for educational equity and excellence. I\'ve also served as an Assistant Coach for basketball teams, and I previously held the role of Assistant Director for a non-profit organization, Project Lighten-Up Summer Academy. These experiences reflect my dedication to youth empowerment and community development. My active involvement extends to various student organizations at North Carolina A&T State University, where I maintain an impressive GPA of 3.97. I am an honors member and participate in clubs and associations such as PRISM, NCAT x NAACP, National Black Law Student Association, Alpha Lambda Delta, Aggies Debate, Phi Alpha Delta, and the Office of Intercultural Engagement. Academically, I\'ve achieved excellence at North Carolina A&T, pursuing a B.A. in Liberal Studies: Pre-Law. My journey has been marked by honors and scholarships, including Dominion Energy Scholar, TMCF Scholar, Crème of Nature Scholar, Wells Fargo Scholar, and AggieGentz Finalist. These accolades reflect my commitment to academic excellence and leadership. In addition to my professional and academic pursuits, I am a virtual tutor/mentor, dedicating my time to making a positive impact in the lives of others. I\'m passionate about education, community engagement, and leadership, and I\'m excited to connect and explore opportunities to drive positive change together.
