About Millikan

Private markets became systemic. Infrastructure didn\'t. Today there are far more large private companies than public ones, and trillions of dollars of capital now operate outside traditional exchanges. But while the scale of private markets changed, the infrastructure largely didn’t. Ownership is still defined through documents. Transfers are still negotiated between intermediaries. Settlement is still largely manual. That architecture made sense when private markets were smaller and episodic. It becomes a constraint when those markets become systemic. Runner Markets is being built to address that transition — establishing infrastructure for how private market assets originate, how ownership is recorded, and how transfers settle. Before founding Runner, I spent two decades working across institutional asset management and private markets platforms, including roles at BlackRock, CAIS, and as Deputy CIO at CAZ Investments. Across those roles I worked with more than 100 asset managers and directed over $30B in allocations across venture capital, private equity, private credit, and secondaries. One theme became clear over time: private markets had reached enormous scale, but the infrastructure supporting ownership and transfer had not evolved at the same pace. That gap is what Runner is built to address. I care deeply about building infrastructure that: • treats market participants fairly • embeds compliance directly into architecture • scales with the markets it serves If you’re interested in building long-lived financial infrastructure, we should talk.

Private markets now represent nearly $20T in assets globally, yet much of the infrastructure governing issuance, ownership, and transfer remains document-based and fragmented. Runner Markets is building infrastructure to standardize how private market assets originate, how ownership is recorded, and how transfers settle. The goal is not simply to build another platform, but to establish infrastructure that allows private markets to operate with the transparency, efficiency, and scalability required of systemic markets.Focus areas include:• Digital issuance frameworks for private funds• Institutional ownership registries• Programmable transfer infrastructure• Compliance-embedded market architectureWe are currently building the foundational registry and ownership layers of the system.
