Hi. My name is Joan, but people call me Nicky. It\'s a ridiculous story, feel free to ask about it sometime. I\'m a creative professional with a passion for building community and helping people. Motivated by being of service and extroverted as all get out, recruiting, relationship building, and connecting people is my calling. In 2021, I was recruited to recruit again and worked with an incredible tech company committed to improving the world. I founded Vamos Consulting in early 2022 to partner with clients committed to improving their DEI recruiting and retention strategies. I\'m skilled at translating the following languages; tech geek, Spanglish, art enthusiast, and toddler. When I\'m not working, I can be found working in my garden, riding bikes, paddling, or walking in the forest. Born in the Netherlands and raised in Northern California, I now reside in the green city of Portland, Oregon. I studied design and textile science at the Fashion Institute of Design and Merchandising in San Francisco, CA. Possessing both a competitive and creative spirit, it was a natural transition from the hands-on creative side to business development, marketing, and, employment growth strategy. As an advocate for community development, I enjoy getting involved. Previously I served as the 20••••11 Publicity Co-Chair of ChildHelp’s Phoenix Chapter and volunteered with Chicanos Por La Causa, in Phoenix, Arizona. We bring extensive experience and professionalism to all our work, customizing our services to meet your individual needs.On a contract (per project) basis, I provide strategy, marketing, and event support to Vida En Color. This organization is small but dynamic and pivots rapidly to provide solutions. When called upon, it\'s my responsibility to navigate hurdles, manage grassroots marketing initiatives and support all events.
