ABOUT NICK VALENZUELA
I have spent nine years building and running enterprise identity programs at BlueCross BlueShield of Tennessee, one of the largest health insurers in the country. Identity security is not a side project here. It is a core business function, and I have been at the center of it since day one. My work covers the full identity stack. I have led large-scale CyberArk projects, built privileged account governance programs, and scaled PAM operational coverage from a team of three to seventeen. I drove a full enterprise migration from RSA Aveksa to Saviynt, designed role-based provisioning that cut manual access work by 40%, and built the onboarding function that brings every new application into the identity program. I have also integrated SSO and MFA across 70+ applications using PingFederate and PingID. I work closely with vendors, procurement, and executive leadership across the full buying cycle. I run competitive platform evaluations, guide technical validation efforts, negotiate SOW and renewal terms, and support proof of concept work for new platforms we are evaluating. I present IAM strategy directly to our CISO and know how to take a complex identity architecture discussion and make it land clearly for both technical teams and business leaders who need to approve the budget. Nine years at the same organization has given me something most identity professionals do not have. A clear picture of how enterprise IAM programs mature, what makes them succeed, and what causes them to stall. I have seen every phase of that journey firsthand.
