ABOUT NICOLAS PIERRE

Seasoned Chief Technology Officer with 20+ years of experience leading network, cloud, and security platforms at global scale. I specialize in turning deep technical capability into durable business outcomes across carrier infrastructure, cloud security, and critical systems.I began my career by building one of Montreal’s first successful large-scale Internet Service Providers, designing and operating carrier-grade infrastructure through the industry’s transition from analog dial-up to broadband. This work established deep expertise in large-scale aggregation platforms, including early DSLAM/BRAS, CMTS, and wireless data networks.At Sandvine, I was an early technical leader and a pioneer in Deep Packet Inspection (DPI), working directly with Tier-1 fixed, wireless, and satellite providers worldwide. I helped define how DPI-driven traffic management, policy control, and security could be operationalized at carrier scale, influencing both product direction and real-world deployments. As the company grew, I built and led the Sales Engineering organization and later served as Director of Sales Engineering for the Americas, supporting major Tier-1 wins and complex global deployments.In 2008, I founded Bering Media Inc, serving as CTO and Director. I authored and owned unique intellectual property for a privacy-driven, real-time advertising demand-side platform, delivering hyper-local targeting without invasive user tracking—well ahead of mainstream privacy regulation. I led the full technical vision and IP strategy through to successful acquisition by a large international agency.I later returned to Sandvine as Vice President, Office of the CTO, reporting directly to the CTO and leading a global team of senior technologists. I drove long-term strategy across Active Network Intelligence, advanced policy solutions, and 5G, while acting as a senior technical executive with customers worldwide.As Field CTO at Lacework, I became a cloud security evangelist and expert, helping organizations adopt automated, data-driven security across complex multi-cloud environments.Today, as CTO at Agilicus, I lead bleeding-edge Zero Trust technology delivering highly secure remote access to critical infrastructure and operational technology (OT). Our platform replaces VPN-centric models with identity-first, least-privilege access to systems such as SCADA, PLCs, and HMIs—providing strong security, auditability, and operational simplicity for the most risk-sensitive environments.Fully bilingual and globally experienced, I’m based in Mississauga, Ontario
