About Nicholas Chen

Nicholas is a community planning associate and urban designer at Kimley-Horn and Associates. His focus in practice is land use planning and design, entitlement and due diligence work, and public and private specific plans. He collaborates with community members, planners, developers, landscape architects, and engineers around the country to bring innovative solutions to the communities he works in. Nicholas is passionate about the responsible revitalization and growth of communities and combines his knowledge of urban design and policy planning in his every day work. Prior to Kimley-Horn, Nick contributed to work done in both the community development and landscape architecture departments at Michael Baker International in the Santa Ana office. This work ranged from multiple components of General Plan updates for cities across southern California to various Vision and Master plans all over the nation. There he was responsible for overseeing the completion of Specific Plans for various new communities around Southern California, along with site planning different housing product mixes for greenfield development work.
