   As Head of Portfolio Operations at Platte River Equity, I work closely with our transaction teams and portfolio company CEOs and CFOs to execute value creation initiatives and to drive growth in our businesses. The Portfolio Operations group plays a significant change-agent role within the portfolio companies and serves as a critical aspect of the firm’s value creation strategy. The Portfolio Operations group is tasked with responsibilities across three key areas- Underwriting/Due-Diligence • Work closely with deal teams during the underwriting process to develop business plans designed to build immediate value through both operational and strategic changes following the closing of investments Post-Investment Value Creation • Spend significant time on site at portfolio companies’ post-closing, serving as Platte River’s “culture carrier,” instilling a culture that values integrity, accountability and best-in-class safety • Work with portfolio company management teams to develop appropriate financial and accounting controls, reporting processes, key operating procedures and information systems • Develop and maintain relationships with CEOs, CFOs and senior operating executives at the portfolio companies • Develop and aid in the implementation of contingency plans to ensure portfolio company performance through all stages of industry and economic cycles • Identify opportunities for improvement in portfolio-wide value-add opportunities across the firm Talent Resource Management • Assist in the creation of organizational infrastructure (people and technology) to support future growth of the portfolio companies • Establish strategic partnerships with best-in-class third-party consultants and other specialists necessary for the creation and implementation of the post-investment business plans • Evaluate the effectiveness of third-party resources and portfolio company management teams
