About Nicklaus Pio
Greetings, my name is Nick and I want to become a Speech Therapist to provide people with a voice they deserve. Every person deserves the chance to communicate, eat the food that they want and convey their message with confidence. Some of my most memorable experiences have been being the President of UOP’s NSSLHA club and being the Tour Manager/Tour LEAD at University of the Pacific under Office of Admission. I also have 2 years of clinical experience working with clients on Evidence Based Practice activities in the University private practice setting. Applying these unparalleled experiences as a First Generation Student going to college makes me eager to see what the future entails in this career. My aspirations are to be working in the medical side of Speech Language Pathology focusing on cognition, voice, swallowing and memory (Outpatient/Inpatient). My 2 years of experience in the Kaiser Permanente College Internship program has helped me grasp on the medical terminology and functions that healthcare provides. However, my ultimate goal is to run my own private practice with a wide range of different populations/age groups. I am determined to make a profound impact on the abilities of an individual\'s life by utilizing the hybrid approach throughout therapy sessions. I believe the best way to implement this component is to build rapport and to implement the client\'s interest as well as what the clinician believes is best for them.
