About Nickii Wantakan Arcado
Wantakan Nicolette Arcado, known by her friends as Nickii, is M.S. candidate in the Edmund A. Walsh School of Foreign Service. With a concentration in International Development, she aims to create policy initiatives that increase and strengthen government capacity in supporting refugees and internally displaced populations. Her research interests include migration and refugee law, subnational conflict, and Southeast Asia. She has worked in immigration for over six years, with experience in the government, public, and private sector. More recently, she conducted a year-long case study on Thailand’s foreign policy towards Japan and the United States during World War II, consolidating her findings into a published book titled Siamese Sovereignty: Thailand’s Strategy of Political Duality during World War II.
