How does a Martian Geologist become a marketer?The connection may not seem obvious, but I made it happen:D I love research and exploring beyond our own planet, but I also find joy in sharing science. I discovered the intersection of these two through science communication. Following graduate school, this led me down a marketing path for Cornell External Education. Through eCornell, I have been fortunate enough to blend some of my analytical and communication skills as well as pursue my lifelong learning philosophy that I strive to inspire in others. In the past two years, I have completed 20+ Cornell certificates in topics varying from leadership to marketing to wines.Outside of work, my heart belongs to rugby. Living, breathing, and thinking about the sport all the time, I am a player first, but I referee when able and started coaching a high school team last year. Rugby has also provided me many travel opportunities, including watching the World Cup in Japan (2019) and France (2023), playing in various tournaments throughout the country (hopefully international someday!), and volunteering for the medical team at the LA Sevens invitational tournament. An incredible aspect of rugby is the community.<3 Words can barely describe the bond amongst ruggers, but for me, a life-changing moment was the rugby community\'s response to the 2016 Louisiana Flood, which destroyed more than 100k homes. I coordinated ruggers to volunteer with demolition and cleanup efforts of these homes, and co-founded Rugby Relief, a 501(c)3 nonprofit disaster relief organization, so that we could utilize the rugby community\'s strength and generosity to assist with future natural disasters.Whether it is in my work life, rugby life, or personal life, I am also very passionate about diversity & inclusion and ensuring a safe space for everyone to be their authentic selves. Everyone has their own stories and positive/negative experiences. They deserve to be seen and heard in a way that celebrates their uniqueness as well as acknowledges the discrimination and injustices that they have faced and continually do. Equality, respect, and human rights are not compromisable.
