ABOUT NICKI MACKLIN
My PhD is currently under examination at the University of Auckland’s School of Population Health, exploring kindness in healthcare teams – what conditions for kindness are and how we can cultivate kindness to help our teams, patients, families and communities flourish. I work with a global network of people around the world invested in achieving kind care in practice and policy, and I\'m an Associate Editor at BMJ Leader, with a special focus on supporting kindness and human connection research to publication. I hold several patient advocacy and advisory roles and am passionate about making space for others to flourish through open-hearted organisational cultures. I am an experienced consultant and presenter on all things kindness, and get very excited about this public speaking work and the seachange it signifies. As well as health I’m also passionate about how organisational kindness can have an impact in other professional environments, particularly law.
