About Nicholas Holland
I’m the Cofounder & CEO of VIRV, where we’re rethinking how off-highway fleets electrify. At VIRV, we deliver Electrons as a Service through swappable batteries—removing the downtime, infrastructure costs, and operational headaches that come with traditional charging. My career started in oil & gas, where I spent 20+ years leading environmental, safety, and risk management for midstream operators. In 2022, I made the jump into climate tech with my cofounder, Christa Zaharias. We set out to apply that same operational discipline to one of aviation’s toughest challenges: decarbonizing airport ground fleets. Today, I lead VIRV’s strategy, fundraising, and partnerships. Along the way we’ve: • Developed a patented swappable power system for ground support equipment (GSE) • Secured early partnerships with ground handlers, leasing fleets, and regional airports • Built a service model that cuts CAPEX by up to 75% and eliminates millions of hours of wasted downtime I’m passionate about helping airports, airlines, and other off-highway operators move from pilot projects to full-scale electrification without compromise.
