ABOUT NICK DEAN
It’s messy, understandably so, after years of masking, building and running businesses, and putting on a front in a bid to find security and finally embrace my authentic self. I was diagnosed with OCD at age 11, autism at age 49, and, to round things off, burnout in 2024 led to a new diagnosis: co-morbid, complex ADHD, autism, and OCD. It’s all there in black and white, and now everything makes sense. I feel no shame in burnout, it’s brutal and not to be taken lightly. Personal research shows that 89% of neurodivergent adults have experienced burnout that has directly impacted their careers. Understandably, there is a significant gap for adults (and children) navigating neurodivergence, compounded by the interplay between physical and mental health and the barriers to accessing diagnosis and intervention. Neurokindness channels my lived experience and years of business expertise into supporting neurodivergent individuals (diagnosed, self-diagnosed, exploring, aware, etc.), helping them maintain healthy, successful lives and careers. Alongside this, I am developing not-for-profit global community solutions to address the gaps in care amidst the ongoing crisis.
