ABOUT NICK HEAP
I help people solve challenging human problems with simple methods. Three stories follow.A client needed a strategy to avert a potentially devastating strike. I gave everybody on her team equal time to share their best ideas. The quiet people had space to talk, and the noisy ones had to focus. They devised a strategy (which was successful). Afterwards, my client said to me,\"That was brilliant. Charge me what you like!\"I helped a client turn around a failing SAPS project in a day by asking the people involved how they felt about it. They all felt terrible. They decided that they didn\'t want to feel bad anymore. They rescued the project, which saved the company millions and made them much happier. A client asked me to lead a team development event with participants from six African countries, one British, two Dutch and an American. We started by sitting in a circle, sharing why we cared about the organisation\'s work. Then, we discussed what was working well, their dreams for the future, and how to make those dreams a reality. There was laughter, joyful tears, and many constructive conversations. They raised their game together. My banner photograph is of the team immediately after the event. Here are some more stories about my innovative one-on-one work: enjoy working with the best people I can find. It is easier to help people move from great to extraordinary than from mediocre to adequate. The impact is much more powerful, and it\'s much more fun.I\'ve published free tools and articles on You can access them and use them as you like. The examples demonstrate the effectiveness of simple methods in generating positive change.
