Architecting secure, resilient virtualisation and storage solutions in regulated Public Sector environments, combining technical leadership with customer-focused solution design.Key Responsibilities & AchievementsDesign and deliver enterprise infrastructure solutions across virtualisation (VMware vSphere/ESXi, Nutanix AHV), storage (Nutanix HCI), backup and recovery (CommVault, Rubrik, LTO tape), monitoring (SolarWinds), disaster recovery (Nutanix-DR), and secure remote access (Okta), ensuring compliance with Public Sector security frameworks.Lead a team of five Infrastructure Engineers, providing mentoring, technical governance, and acting as the senior escalation point for complex incidents and investigations.Consult with customers and cross-functional teams to gather requirements, produce high-level designs, build proof-of-concepts, and implement scalable, resilient, and compliant infrastructure solutions across on-premises and hybrid environments.Engage in technical pre-sales solution design with current and prospective customers, creating proposals, architecture documentation, and cost models that align technical solutions to business needs.Develop and maintain design documentation, processes, and procedures to support service management, ensuring operational readiness and repeatable best practice.Drive data centre migration, infrastructure refresh, and workload consolidation projects, improving performance, resilience, and cost efficiency across secure estates.Ensure security and compliance through network architecture and access controls (firewall rule flows, VLAN design, VPNs), identity and access management (Active Directory, Okta, PKI), and disaster recovery planning (meeting RTO/RPO objectives).
