ABOUT NICK DREWE
Like most procurement professionals, I found myself working in the role by chance! I have a Masters in Mechanical Engineering but honestly, I always had an entrepreneurial streak that I had to pursue. I blame it on my great-great grandfather Julius Drewe who founded and sold what has now become Morrisons supermarket, enabling him to retire aged 32! Sadly he spent most his wealth constructing the last ever castle built in the UK, Castle Drogo, now owned by the National Trust, so we\'re back to square one.It was after my 5 year stint in procurement consulting that I co-founded Market Dojo. We spotted a gap in the market for on-demand, affordable procurement technology built for the end users. For example, for just £500 for a professionally-supported reverse auction, we\'ve helped individual clients like Logitech, Cancer Research and Kent County Council literally save millions. In fact, we\'ve helped clients save over £1.7bn in under 10 years. These days the \'Dojo\' brand has expanded into category planning, innovation, eSourcing, Supplier Management and Contract Management. They all share the same attributes of being on-demand, openly priced and designed for the end user, be it consultancy start-ups or global corporations. All of them have free access to the tool too. If you don\'t believe me, try it out for yourself on We have been shortlisted in the World Procurement Awards for Procurement Technology of the Year twice now (2020 and 2022), as well as \"One to Watch\" four years in a row with Spend Matters. More accolades include one of the highest ratings on Capterra (a Gartner-owned independent review site) as well as a feature in Gartner too. My personal specialties include: eSourcing, eAuctions, supply chain, Logistics, Procurement, Cost Reduction, SRM, spend analysis, category management, strategic procurement, negotiating, as well as business operations & development skills.More recently I completed an Executive MBA with Quantic in the USA, achieving an Honours status for being in the top 10% of my cohort.
