Space Cyber Security Regulatory Specialist for the UK’s Civil Aviation Authority (CAA), the UK’s space regulator. Responsible for audit and critical analysis of cybersecurity strategies, risk assessments and mitigation activities within space activity license holders and applicants against regulations during consultations.Developed from the ground up assessment criteria and scope in line with IS27001, NIST, CIS, and CAF frameworks, creating a monitoring framework to assess compliance with regulation and developed associated guidance, policy and training.Engagement and collaboration with the UK Government and industry partners, including the UK Cyber Security Centre (NCSC), part of GCHQ, and the UK Space Agency (UKSA), to share insights and validate methodologies. Regular engagement with industry experts globally, including with international entities such as the Australian Space Agency, the FAA, NASA, and the Canadian Space Agency, fostering unified approaches and facilitating information sharing across borders.Current project work includes collaborating on a national resilience project with the UK Cabinet Office, ensuring the UK can withstand hostile or fortuitous challenges. Separately, development of a POC AI use case to allow the use of AI within our assessment tooling, future-proofing the CAA’s approach.Additionally, attendance at the Space Cyber Security Executive course in Glasgow, UK, and the Certified Space Security Specialist Professional course in Houston, USA, provides context. Cultivating senior leadership understanding within the sector, the courses also covered satellite construction, vulnerabilities, and emerging economic trends in the space industry, with participants gaining hands-on experience by constructing a CubeSat.CAA Skyline Shadow Board member, Influencing the CAA’s Executive Committee (ExCo) and key stakeholders on the organisation\'s direction and development, providing vital senior management exposure.
