ABOUT NICK CLARK

As one of the founding directors of Avicenna Pharmacy, I spearheaded the establishment and growth of a private equity-backed pharmacy business, serving as one of its founding Directors from inception in 2017. With initial seed funding from PE firm Freshstream, we embarked on a strategic acquisition journey, culminating in the successful purchase of 15 pharmacies in the North East by late 2017. Over the subsequent five-year period, I played a pivotal role in driving the company\'s expansion, overseeing its evolution into a network comprising 139 pharmacies and a formidable buying group with 1200 members. This growth resulted in a combined annual turnover of £150m. My leadership and strategic direction were instrumental in navigating the complexities of the pharmacy industry and positioning the business for sustained success. As a key leader within the organisation, I assumed comprehensive operational responsibilities, spearheading the establishment of all retail systems and processes from the ground up. This encompassed the design and implementation of robust operational frameworks to support our rapid expansion, ensuring seamless integration of acquired pharmacies into our network. My hands-on approach and strategic vision were instrumental in laying the foundation for sustained growth and operational excellence.
