ABOUT NICK SPARKS

I have a broad range of management, leadership and commercial experience across industry and the military, fusing that knowledge to enable me to work across the whole range of civil, government and military sectors. I have managed a number of large programmes and projects many of which focused on improving profitability - often by finding novel ways of reusing existing investments, but also by more traditional methods of reducing costs and manpower or negotiating with suppliers. I have worked outside the UK in most EU countries, the Middle East and South West Asia, and I am comfortable working in different cultures as well as in challenging environments. In the military field I have experience of integrating Joint Fires in operational environments, planning medium scale operations as well as Information Management and Information Exploitation skills. I have extensive experience of Air Land Integration (ALI), including use of manned and unmanned air systems in demanding environments. My skills include negotiation, senior level engagement, business development, procurement and strategic planning, as well as the usual team leadership, management and instructional skills. I am also keenly interested in the impact of Human Factors upon performance and am a qualified Human Factors Facilitator and Instructor and I have delivered Human Factors training in a variety of commercial and military environments. In my latest venture I am building a team of SMEs who offer the full range of services in the ALI field to both military and civil customers. I continue to act as a consultant in a wide range of commercial and military fields, and have recently consultant on joint Effects, Air Land Integration, Information Management, Information Exploitation and the impact of Human Factors on the performance of individuals and teams, adherence to process and attitude to risk.
